When things go sideways, most people roll with the punches—but apparently that doesn’t apply to everyone.

Donald Trump has declared war on what he believes is an elaborate plot against him, all stemming from technical hiccups during his recent United Nations appearance.

The former president was visibly agitated when discussing his UN General Assembly experience this week.

While Trump did encounter several equipment malfunctions during his New York City speech, his explosive response has raised eyebrows across the political spectrum.

The drama started when Trump and Melania found themselves stranded mid-ride as their escalator suddenly shut down, leaving the couple no choice but to hoof it up the remaining steps.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt fueled conspiracy theories by suggesting the malfunction was no accident, referencing a Sunday Times of London piece that claimed UN employees had jokingly threatened to disable escalators and blame budget shortfalls—a dig at America’s recent funding reductions to the organization.

Trump’s technical troubles didn’t end there. He also battled a malfunctioning teleprompter and claims his speech suffered from serious sound problems throughout the presentation.

UN Secretary General spokesman Stephane Dujarric offered a straightforward explanation when addressing both the escalator and teleprompter incidents.

The escalator stoppage, he explained, happened when someone walking ahead of Trump accidentally triggered the safety mechanism, automatically shutting down the system.

“Regarding the teleprompter, we have no comment since the teleprompter for the US president is operated by the White House,” he clarified.

Instead of accepting these mundane explanations, Trump unleashed a furious Truth Social rant, blasting the UN and threatening a full-scale investigation.

His post exploded with accusations: “This was absolutely sabotage, as noted by a day’s earlier ‘post’ in The London Times that said UN workers ‘joked about turning off an escalator.’ The people that did it should be arrested!”

“…after making the Speech, I was told that the sound was completely off in the Auditorium where the Speech was made, that World Leaders, unless they used the interpreters’ earpieces, couldn’t hear a thing.”

Trump wrapped up his tirade by dragging the Secret Service into his conspiracy theory: “This wasn’t a coincidence, this was triple sabotage at the UN. They ought to be ashamed of themselves. I’m sending a copy of this letter to the Secretary General, and I demand an immediate investigation.”

The internet had a field day mocking Trump’s meltdown, with one Twitter user writing: “Off with their heads!!! This fool thinks he’s a king. I’m sure pretty soon he’ll ask for a guillotine to be installed on the White House lawn.”

Another critic piled on: “Trump’s so vain and thin-skinned he needs people arrested when his escalator doesn’t work. Trump’s just behaving like a mega baby.”
