Joke of the Day: The Man Who Feared What Was Under His Bed

Ever since he was a little boy, Dave had one irrational fear — that someone was hiding under his bed at night. As a grown man, the fear didn’t fade. In fact, it got worse.

Desperate, he finally went to see a psychiatrist.

“Doc,” he said, “I can’t sleep. Every time I lie down, I imagine someone under my bed, just waiting to grab me. I think I’m losing it.”

The psychiatrist nodded and replied,

“Come see me three times a week. We’ll talk through your fear. It might take a year or two, but we’ll get to the bottom of it.”

Dave paused and asked, “How much per visit?”

“$100,” the doctor replied.

Dave nodded slowly, then stood up and said,

“Thanks, but I think I’ll sleep on it.”

A few months later, the psychiatrist ran into Dave on the street.

“Hey, why didn’t you come back?”

Dave smiled and said,

“Oh, I’m cured! A bartender gave me a much cheaper solution — he told me to just cut the legs off my bed!”

Sometimes, the simplest solutions come from the unlikeliest experts. 😄
