He left one last message from the hijacked plane. His wife heard it only after she got home.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, Brian Sweeney reached for a seat-back phone on United Flight 175.
The plane had already been hijacked. He knew the situation was dire. In a calm, steady voice he left a short message for his wife, Julie, who was teaching school that morning and could not answer.
He told her he loved her. He told her to go live a good life. He told his parents and everyone else the same. Then he said he would see her when she got there.
Julie only heard the recording after she returned home later that day. By then the South Tower had already fallen.
That brief message has stayed with her ever since. It is now part of the collection at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum in New York, where visitors can still listen to the words of a husband who spent his final moments thinking of the people he loved.
Twenty-five years later, the recording still lands with the same quiet force.
