A frantic midnight search ended in heartbreaking tragedy when a neighbor found a missing two-year-old Texas girl unresponsive in a water-filled creek.

Twenty-two-year-old Uriel Ramirez joined the search immediately after local authorities issued an AMBER Alert. He navigated dense brush, climbed onto a rock, and spotted toddler Aryana Trevino Martinez in the overgrown water roughly 500 yards from her family home.

“She’s like an angel, and something led me straight to her, like a direct shot,” Ramirez told KSAT 12 News. “My brain was just — that’s where she is.”
