101-Year-Old Businesswoman Shares Her Daily Routine for a Long, Fulfilling Life

Most of us dream about reaching a ripe old age—getting the chance to reflect on our journey while still having plenty of good days ahead of us.
For generations, people have searched for the formula to push human longevity to its absolute limits, trying to unlock whatever secrets might help us reach those remarkable ages at the far edge of what’s possible.
Sure, eating well, staying active, and looking after yourself physically are no-brainers when it comes to extending your years. But could there be additional strategies you’re overlooking that might tip the scales in your favor?
A centenarian who works with the energy of someone decades younger has offered her perspective, sharing four essential habits she practices daily.

Meet Ann Angeletti—at 101 years young, she’s earned the right to be considered an expert on longevity. What makes her story even more remarkable is that she shows up to work in Manhattan’s Diamond District six days every week, where her loyal customers absolutely adore her.
During a conversation with ABC7 NY, Ann explained that she entered the workforce quite early, dropping out of school to help manage her family’s Brooklyn grocery shop.
While her husband served overseas during World War II (yes, we’re talking about that long ago), Ann found work waiting tables in New York City. She’s been immersed in business ever since, and today she still operates Curiosity Jewelry, her store in Cresskill.

While Ann’s daughter and granddaughter pitch in, the 101-year-old remains deeply engaged in the shop’s everyday operations.
Recounting how she came to own the business, Ann shared with ABC7 NY: “I happened to be driving past when I noticed the place was available. I rang up the landlord and asked about the rent—he told me $85 monthly. This was back in 1964.”
Then she made a telling observation: “The day I retire is the day I die.”
According to reports, while the store operates five days weekly, Ann personally works six days without fail.
When pressed about her extraordinary stamina, she attributed it to a dedicated routine of “self care.”
“You’ve got to get yourself up, you’ve got to wash, you’ve got to eat properly, you’ve got to look after yourself. You’ve got to keep moving,” Ann explained. “And if something’s not working for you, then make a change.”
Her philosophy boils down to one straightforward goal: “Get everything you can out of each day. Working every day brings me joy.”
